Here are what some of our patrons - be it over the internet, through print, crayon-ed letter or otherwise - have said about Dunne and Crescenzi in their testimonials:

TripAdvisor

"There's a huge element of laidback Italy here but also professional and efficient service... A must-try for visitors to Dublin".

"Great mozzarella di bufala, pasta as mamma does it and extensive wine list. Don't leave without tasting the tiramisu and a good espresso!"

"The ingredients are genuinely of the highest standard - proper organic free-range eggs, proper home-made bread, real olive oil...and the wine is always great. Most importantly, the coffee is, invariably, perfect...

"We recently had dinner here after realising we had never actually been to what's known as probably the best Italian in Dublin."

"... Some lazy Sundays, only a Dunne Crecenzi coffee with scrambled eggs, on home-made ciabatta, will do...This is my favourite restaurant when I am in Dublin.

"... It is true that the inviting food, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere can lure you into eating a lot more, and staying a lot longer than intended... At the very least, Dunne Crescenzi has the best coffee in Dublin."

"... They've brought great, authentic Italian dining to Ireland... Fresh ingredients and inspired seasoning are a constant feature... very cosy atmosphere, and families are very welcome. The service is also top notch. Highly recommended."

"Always a delight for its unpretentiousness... A great example of how less can be more...how good to sit down with a glass of wine (house wine is reasonably priced, and bottles on sale can be opened for a small corkage charge) and, maybe, a plate of antipasti - with wafer-thin Parma ham, perhaps, several salamis, peppers preserved in olive oil, olives and a slice of toasted ciabatta drizzled with extra virgin olive oil...There are even some little tables on the pavement, if you're lucky enough to get them on a sunny day.

Indoors or out, expect to queue: this place has a loyal following."

"... Their progress over the years has fascinated us, because their impact on the way Dubliners eat has been immense. They have educated and uplifted the city through their knowledge of food and wine and the beautiful places they have created for us in which to enjoy the things they source and cook..

Anytime we are in one of their restaurants is a special time, but we must select D&C on South Frederick Street as someplace extra special, a room with an energy and vibrancy like no other. They are remarkable people, they do remarkable things."

Dunne & Crescenzi South Frederick Street are proud to awarded again as winners of  one of the 100 Best Restaurants in Ireland 2015, as selected by John and Sally McKenna

"They were passionate about their food sourcing which they did from small Italian producers and it is still the same today...

This is a place now that is a hive of activity, people enjoying good Italian antipasti plates and wine both inside and outside at the tables under their perky awnings. It is just a great place to meet friends, or kick off with breakfast if you have come into town on the Dart, or for relaxed food at night. It is almost a Dublin institution now... Go visit this Italian legend in Dublin."

"We thoroughly enjoyed the food in your restaurant in Kildare at the weekend. My new son was introduced to good food too!"

"A note to thank you from my mother as well for the bottle of olive oil. We loved it and will be back buying more. The fact that it is mono-cultivar from Italian olives provides the distinct feature and refined taste and that is exactly what we look for."

"This exceptional Italian eatery delights its regulars with a basic menu of rustic pleasures: panini, a single pasta dish and a superb plate of mixed antipasti drizzled in olive oil... The coffee is perfect and the desserts are sinfully good."
