When we set up Dunne & Crescenzi in 1998, we wanted a place where people would go and have a glass of wine without any pretentiousness, no white tablecloths and waiters hovering around; a place to feel comfortable eating alone or with family and friends. One might feel like a full meal or simply an antipasto or bruschetta. Our ingredients are sourced locally . We import most of our supplies, wines and coffees, preferring to deal with small producers - people who have the same passion for food as ourselves !

Dunne & Crescenzi was born in 1999 from the original taste and enterprise of Eileen Dunne and her husband Stefano Crescenzi.
After they moved to Dublin from Rome in 1995, they set up a small shop in Sutton, stocking finr Italian foods and wine began to develop contacts and products.
After just few years, with two restaurants in Dublin City Centre and a new one opened in Sandymount Village, D&C is the result of an excellent combination of quality food , authentic Italian atmosphere and of course a good customers care. As Stefano says: It distinguishes our business as an importer of good quality food and regional wines.
D&C is not only a restaurant, it is basically what we call an Experience.
We are part of the slow food industry that is you can easily breath the purely Italian atmosphere, way too far from the hectic style of a capital city.
Studied fine art at Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome where she worked 17 years for the UN for the International Fund for Agricoltural Development in the areas of Personnel and Training.
Residing in Dublin since 1995, she has established various business, her background includes a Higher certificate in wines, which accompanies her knowledge of the Italian cuisine customs and culture.
Stefano Crescenzi
Received a degree in economics from the University of Rome and worked in Africa with NGO's and for the UN where he specialized in International Cooperation and Development.. Here he met his irish wife Eileen.
He resides in Dublin since 1995 where he started to work in the restaurant business and to cook professionally.
The true love for his native italian cuisine come from his grandmother Valentina. He recently opened a restaurant in her homage in Portobello.
Many of the recipes came from Stefanos's art historian uncle, who taught him to cook while he was a student in Rome.
"Italian cuisine, for me, is more than research, it's also a respect for tradition......"
He has also taught Italian cooking at various schools in North and South Dublin.
