"Dunne and Crescenzi has changed the way the Irish eat"

Tom Doorley, THE IRISH TIMES

"... Their progress over the years has fascinated us, because their impact on the way Dubliners eat has been immense. They have educated and uplifted the city through their knowledge of food and wine and the beautiful places they have created for us in which to enjoy the things they source and cook ... "

John and Sally Mc Kenna

SINCE 1999

Eileen Dunne met Stefano Crescenzi in Rome in the early 90's. They married and moved to Dublin in 1995, where they started their first little business- a shop in Sutton. Selling fine Italian wines, salumi and cheeses, they soon realised that customers were enjoying their taste of Italy, and interested in learning more.

In 1999, Dunne & Crescenzi in South Frederick street opened. Serving simple Italian food with the best quality ingredients, authentically Italian hospitality, and excellent Italian wines, Eileen and Stefano, in Tom Doorley's words "changed the way the Irish eat".

"They were passionate about their food sourcing which they did from small Italian producers and it is still the same today ... This is a place now that is a hive of activity, people enjoying good Italian antipasti plates and wine both inside and outside at the tables under their perky awnings. It is just a great place to meet friends, or kick off with breakfast if you have come into town on the Dart, or for relaxed food at night. It is almost a Dublin institution now... Go visit this Italian legend in Dublin."
